I stumbled upon a new set of boxes in the pay-as-you-go aisle of Target this evening. The new provider on the block is Net10. From the way I’m reading the brocure, it looks like they’re a subsidiary of TracFone rather than an MVNO on top of TracFone’s network. Their schtick is simple: nationwide calling costs 10 cents. They also reward the purchase of larger refill cards by making the minutes last longer. For example, a $30, 300 minute card lasts 30 days, while a $180, 1800 minute card lasts 6 months. They also charge 5 cents a pop for text messages, which is less than what most carriers charge their montly invoiced customers.
The phone selection isn’t spectacular, but they get the job done. Available phones include the Nokia 1100 (which honestly I think is pretty cute), Nokia 2600, the funky Motorola C155, and the Motorola V171. The phones are relatively cheap without the frills that you might get on GoPhone or Boost Mobile, but the service is obviously aimed at cost-concious consumers who value a bargain over bling.
TracFone has done a smart thing by targeting a niche that has gone largely untapped. They need to keep on their toes though, bargain hunters don’t have much brand loyalty and the space could get very crowded very quickly.
My husband and I both just bought a NET10 phobe. We’re very satisfied with them as well. The reception is awsome and crystal clear and the price, you just can’t beat it! $30 for 300 minutes, now that’s a deal compared to a lot of the other prepaid cell phone cards if your a frequent user. As long as they stay a reliable service and have cheap rates, we’ll stay with NET10. We just dropped “Simple Freedom” because of unreliable service, why have something you can’t use. My sister has used Tracfone for a long time now and hasn’t had any problems with it so knowing that NET10 was owned by Tracfone made my decission a bit easier to make. I’d highly recommend NET10 to anyone.

i got a net10 phone last week, and i’ve yet to get the thing activated- and trust me, it’s not from lack of trying. the call center folks are, i’m sure, doing the best they can out there in India, but i’ve been told twice that it would be activated within 24 hours- to no avail. i’ve also been assigned a new SIM serial number to try to fix the problem- still, nada. this may be an isolated incident as far as their service is concerned, but i’m pretty disappointed and plan on returning this thing…
I got my Net10 this past week and activated it myself by landline, it took me about 15 minutes. I did call and get instruction on adding my 600 minute card though and they were helpful and had it on there in about 10 minutes. I was using the phone 30 minutes after activation.
I am disappointed in the Nokia1100 though as the only building it’s worked in has been my home. I sure hope they get some decent phones that’ll pickup in a eating joint or dept. store because this one sure won’t.
I’m overall satisfied and it has worked great everytime I’ve used it. I recommend highly.
I found a reconditioned Nokia 1100 from Net10 it advertised at Star69.com for $29.99. Has anyone had any experience with reconditioned phones?
I’m looking for prepaid cell phone service because I had a Tracfone and used it for a year with no problems, then when I tried to reactivate my service after it lapsed, I had a terrible time. Tracfone was never able to reactivate my phone after numerous calls. I had bought a 150 minute, good for a year, prepaid card already. I finally gave up and returned my phone and am hoping to be reimbursed for my unused minutes and the phone. I found MANY dissatisfied customers on a consumer reports-type website and recorded my complaints there. If Net10 has anything to do with Tracfone I want nothing to do with it and suggest all of you check out the website where numberous people have expressed dissatisfaction with Tracfone.
Just trying to decide what to do about Net10. It sounds too good to be true, but have been burned by Sprint…and really need a cell phone that I can trust, mostly just to have in emergency and quick calls (yeah right). Has anyone got any updated info regarding your satisfaction or lack thereof…?

Well, there is a small catch. Net10 service for the 300 minute, $30 card is for 30 days. That means that you have to pay at least $30 a month, so it’s pretty much like a monthly bill if you want to look at it that way. But if you don’t talk on your cell phone alot, it’s not that bad. You can eventually get tons of minutes because the unused ones stay on your phone as long as you keep it active. Plus, it’s a way better price than TracFone in the long-run.
I recently switched to Net10 after being a faithful TracFone user for over a year. I get great reception, and I don’t have to worry about roaming fees. (I’m constantly back and forth between North Carolina and Georgia so that 2 minutes per 1 minute talked was killin’ me!)
Oh, and if you want a phone that will let you talk anywhere besides your house, LP, get the V171 model. That’s the one I have, and it’ll place a call when my dad’s Verizon Wireless won’t. It’s only about $20 more though, and for me, it’s been a good phone.

If you go to the Nokia website and compare phones it shows that the Nokia 1100 has LOW power as far as being able to pick up networks. My problem is the Motorola website is not as helpful - often it is not the cellular network that makes the phones useless - it is the power of the phone.

Before you buy one of these, I urge you to Google “Tracfone complaints”. After reading the HUNDREDS of problems, if you still want to buy one, then God bless you. Good luck.
My Tracfone (with 500 units left on it) is noting more than a paperweight. I gave up after they sent me my second broken phone. Customer service is located in India, and is a joke.
You wan 10 cents a minute with no roaming? Buy a T-Mobile prepaid. As long as you buy the $100/1,000 minute cards, it’s 10 cents a minute. Plus, you can use the Prepaid with ANY phone they sell (not just the four they pre-package). Imagine having 10-cents a minute on a Motorola RAZR…
In my experience, TracFone will remedy any legitimate problem if you contact its Executive Resolutions Dept. (info available at www.tracfone.com). Their first-level customer service is generally a waste of time, as is e-mailing “general inquiry” via their website.
Purchased phone at Target along with 600 minute card. Never got phone working properly, after a number of calls on Sept 7 Net10 advised me to send phone back to them (at my expense by mailer with a tracking number) and I would receive replacement in 5-10 days. Since was shipped the same day (sept 7) within state of Florida, presumed it would be closer to 5 days. On 18th called re status of phone, message on their voicemail service number said for faster service check website. Website gave very informative message that case was still pending. Called back, service rep. said they had received phone but had not done anything; and indicated he would ‘expedite’ case so that they would actually send replacement phone next business day.
They claim they will add 270 minutes to phone when returns, and will eventually give credit for the 600 minutes previously purchased. I expect many more calls to customer service before this happens. Target refused to accept return after phone was activated.
I recommend trying another company.

DO NOT PURCHASE ANY SERVICE FROM TRACFONE. IMO, They are an absolute scam and you will only lose your money. I have done tons of research on this company but unfortunately only after they ripped me off. They may have been a reputable prepaid wireless provider in years past (although I found nothing but horror stories), but IMO they are absolutely fraudulent now! Do a little research as I wish I had done. I am reporting them to the BBB, Florida AG, and FCC. And I won’t be the first one.
I had the same extremely annoying problem with Tracfone as “Karen Miles (July 28th, 2005 at 6:13 pm)” did. Apparently Tracfone makes their money on forcing customers to repeatedly buy new cellphones–but why couldn’t they just be honest about it up front? I am an “emergency only” cellphone user, and $159 (approx.) a year would certainly be an acceptable annual cost for me (figuring around $30 for their cheapest cellphone and $129.99 for year-long “subscription” card with 300 minutes).

I am incredibly unhappy with my Tracfone service and have written a letter to the President of the company to tell him this. First, my telephone did not activate. i could have lived with this as well as the fairly unpleasant representative. After a month of not receiving any cell fone calls (I was traveling and don’t use the telephone a great deal.), I was amazed to find out that the woman had given me the wrong telephone number–the one I had shared with all my family and friends! In addition, I discovered that the telephone will not ring unless it is on the original screen.
This began a series of telephone and email communications with Tracfone, in which I have been told repeatedly that this is my mistake, even though the number I wrote down was not even remotely like my real number, and that I must have damaged the telephone. Tracfone does not have a policy of refunding money, but they would repair it. Why would I want to continue to do business with them??? In addtiion, the representatives are not native Englsih speakers and I could not understant them nor could they understand me. One gentleman, Risden, continually referred to me as ma’am even after I corrected him twice.

Hi, I´ve read all the horror stories published in this website. Let me tell you that I work for Tracfone, it´s been more than 1 year since I started working for them, let me tell you that yes you are right we the representatives are not native speakers and what´s the big deal with that, we´re there to help not to be discriminated like many people do when they call. It seems to me that sometimes it´s more important to them to find out where we are, that if we are in India or if we are negroes as I was called one time than resolving the problem they might have. Yes I said that they might have cause most of the times they call without real problems, they just don´t seem to figure out how to use a cell phone and we are the stupids, actually I don´t blame them cause nobody was born knowing how to use a cell phone but they don´t even take 5 minutes to read the user guide that comes with the phone package they just call and yell at us cause it´s simply our fault. Another thing about unsatiesfied customers that purchased a phone cause everyone just has it, there is one thing called Terms and Conditions of Service, something you should read before you purchase a product if you do not agree with that just don´t buy it!!! Regarding the technical problems, I really understand them cause some phones just don´t work in some areas, it has to do with the towers, it has to do with the signal reception, it has to do with a lot of things but sometimes they are just a pain, I really understand how frustrated some customers feel aboutthis. I just want to say that I agree 100% with Carrie. I’ve been working for tracfone for a year now, and I think exactly the same as her. why don’t you people just learn to read, first off all, and second, why is it that yankees ALWAYS think it’s someone else’s fault? mexicans are even harder than you (believe it or not), but at least they are really kind people and they appreciate your work, and at least they understand that sometimes it’s their fault.
one last thing. every day that pass is harder for me to understand how people so ignorant and obtuse (i never thought that yankees were so dumb) could be the ones that rule the world. by the way; if you (as many of you say) earn 35 bucks an hour, why are you so miserable??? how can you stand 40′ on the phone just for 2 dollars worth of minutes?!?!?!

I have been a Virgin Prepaid customer for a couple of years and would recommend their service. Virgin only requires you to purchase $15 worth of time every 3 months to maintain service if you use their autopay system. Their airtime is a little more expensive (.25/min first 10 per day then .10/min) but for somebody who doesn’t use the phone much this is the best deal around because of the low purchase requirement. I have been happy with the coverage area and the (annoyingly cute) customer service. Unlike most others, Virgin allows a grace period before they confiscate any leftover balance in your account if you forget to renew.
Update to prior msg, on Sept 18 Net10 said they would ship new phone out next day. Called back Sept 26, still not shipped. Called back Oct 3, phone finally shipped Sept 29, 270 minutes on phone, said they cannot add the 60 day/600 minute card until about 30 days after new phone is activated. New phone finally delivered Oct 5, activated Oct 6 after calling customer service again as website activation failed. Call Nov 21 to add the 60 day card, said they added the 600 minutes but would not add any days because the 60 day card was originally activated (on phone that was defective and returned) more than 60 days ago.
WARNING: If you buy a time card, you have to wait until your original time almost expires, as they add the # days on the new card from the date you activate the card. So, if you have 90 days service and add a 60 day card, the end date of service does not change. These folks are a scam, avoid them at all costs.
I’ve had a tracfone (nokia 1100) for a couple of days. 130 minutes were gone in no time, and the sound (people on the other end) was terrible.
Don’t buy a tracfone. These products are NOT what they seem.
I have had Net10 service with the Motorola v171 for five months now. Previously I had Verizon prepaid. What a difference!
$30/300min now lasts 60 days for Net10. They just started this. The origonal reason I went with the Verizon prepaid in 2004 was the minimum payment per month was $15. The $15 for Verizon lasted less than one hour of talk time with their $.25 connect and $.15 per min. Now I always have time left over (usually 150 minutes at least) so I’m really getting my money’s worth.
Signal is as good for me as Verizon was. The phone is nice. Also, while Net10 has a little bit of a wait to get through to a live person, I have always been able to get one AND they always fixed whatever problem I had. They were also very nice to deal with.
Net10 website doesn’t give me all the account info I used to get with Verizon, but I don’t have to listen to Verizon’s super annoying “you have xx minutes remaining…” every time I dail. The remaining time and date for adding minutes are on the screen and nice and quiet.
I’m buying Net10 phones for my entire family this holiday.
This is the first I have heard of anyone having problems with Tracfone. I just bought two myself (you really cant beat the deal, price-wise!). A lot of people in my area have them and rave about them - good service, signal, etc.
My son has a prepaid cellular flip phone through T-Mobile and gets a great deal - 10 cents a minute, free to receive text messages. The signal is not all that great in our area… but its “okay”. The Tracfone actually has better signal and a much wider range in our particular area than T-Mobile.

I just received a TracFone Dec 13 from my sister as an early Christmas present. I activated it (with some problems) as soon as I received it. She had bought it for me as part of their refer-a-friend promo where she and I would both receive 100 minutes free airtime. On Dec 15 I received an email from TracFone to redeem my free minutes, but when I tried, it said my phone did not qualify because I should have waited until Dec 15 to activate it. Several calls and emails to customer service produced confusing suggestions but no real help. I will try the Executive Resolutions Dept, but if that doesn’t work I will deactivate the phone and return it. Then I may try Net10, but since they are owned by TracFone I might go with anyone else. I am peeved at TracFone and have spent far more in time than their promo is worth, and they have probably lost at least one customer, as well as anyone else I talk to.
I work for Tracfone/Net 10 We are NOT located in INDIA most of the customers are Racist, they never read the terms and conditions of service and whenever they have any small problem they want to be “Compensated” ,what they really want is receive free minutes,they are miserable!!! even if they understand what we say they say they don’t and they ask to speak with an “American”. Schoen did not read the information about how refer a friend works (What a surprisse) somebody was supposed to refer you (this did not happen) but any way your “Friend” was supposed to refer you by sendind you an e-mail, once you receive this e-mail you are supposed to keep the e-mail and buy a phone “THEN” you have to activate the phone and reopen the original e-mail, when you reopen the e-mail you will see that there are some steps that you need to follow after you compleate all the steps you wait up to 48 hours and you and your frien receive an e-mai with the minutes, all this info is available at Tracfone.com this is an online promotion if you have questions you can call 18008677183 but you are like all the other customers you dont read or ask you just want to receive free units
You know what the problem is with unhappy customers, they want everything free, OH My GOD !!! tracfone customers cant even turn a phone ON, and if we tell them to insert a SIM card on a phone, that is like asking a 4 year kid to do it. I dont mean to be rude but sometimes when they call us Jerks, Stupids, I wonder is that really me or people who cannot even turn a phone ON? Why customers think that by having $20 phone they can call and scream at us like they were the king of the world, you know what in my country those phones models (Nokia 1100) you can find them with the people who picks up the trash in my house, remember my country is a third world country, again I dont mean to be rude but we are only honest people that we are not on India and that we speak to languages.

Tracfone (and their Net10 product) provides a great deal for the money, so people have to be more tolerant with problems, as opposed to somebody in an expensive 2-year plan. On the other hand, it certainly is quite interesting that Tracfone customer service representatives actually go on the internet, find blogs about their product and then complain about their customers, as opposed to posting something actually helpful. So anybody buying their phones has to anticipate a rough ride. Could go well, could go bad. Continue reading on how to try it out for minimum money.
Also, Tracfone will certainly admit that they directly market to older people and those with little cell phone experience. Even in this country there are people that can’t afford an expensive cell phone, so this will be their first experience with this technology.
I bought a Net10 phone last week and have since been trying to activate it. Customer service has been very helpful, but they really can’t do anything else than say “wait 4 more hours” and hoping the technicians get it working in the meantime. There is some false advertising involved, since they claim a phone will work in at most 24 hours. In reality there seems to be quite a complicated process going on behind the scene with Tracfone trying to line up a lease with a 3rd party carrier. After I waited a week they agreed to send me a new SIM card, which means now they will try again with a different carrier. My original thinking was that since I live in Chicago there should not be a problem with coverage and finding a carrier. But apparently there is.
Net10 is a great deal, certainly the cheapest prepaid service. And it is backed by the largest South american cell phone carrier so they certainly have the technical resources. But they only have so much control over leasing the line from a 3rd party carrier.
Here is my advice for anybody interested in Net10: Buy one of the cheap phones, but DO NOT buy minutes right away. Then activate the phone over the WEBSITE! That way they will give you 10 minutes free. Those 10 min are enough to see if your service works right or not. The first couple of days all you are waiting for is signal bars on the phone anyway. Then, once it seems to work right, go ahead and buy minutes. I bought minutes right away but at least I didn’t activate them yet, so I may be able to get my money back. Even if you buy the phone and it doesn’t work out, at least you still got a phone out of it and you are out maybe $40 or $50. I feel that’s an acceptable risk for the return of a potentially great prepaid plan.
Finally, someone with some common sense. first of all, I must say that Tracfone is not OUR product. as you all may know, TF (as well as almost every northamerican company) provides customer service through a third party. we are not actually TF employees. About the ‘rough ride’, I have to say that it’s not quite so. Anyone who has worked in customer service could tell you that sometimes it’s umbearable trying to deal with someone who doesn’t even reason. That doesn’t have nothing to do with the fact that we work for tracfone in particular. Of course, I have some things to critysize of TF. As JOHANNES says, Tf is a good deal for older people who doesn’t use the phone very often. the problem is that (as every TF customer knows) for every transaction, such as adding units or whatever problem you may have, you always have to enter looong codes on the keypad, and for some people that’s simply imposible. that’s one of the bad things. (they tryed to solve it with the new Over The Air technology , but sometimes it doesn’t work). if you talk to a rep, you will always end up entering some codes on the phone.
Other thing is the lack of organization (at least at the call center). for instance, when you get a Case #, it’s almost sure that the thing will not be solved. and sometimes, like with any other company, things just doesn’t work and no one knows why. in such cases (which is not very often), TF exchanges the phones at no cost, even thou you
may have gotten the phone for free or the phone’s not working because of your fault.
about the cust service, in my particular case I have to say that I’m not always as kind as I would like to be. that depends on the customer. ‘Junk in, Junk out’. If some cust calls and the first thing they say is ‘I don’t understand you, fuckin’ indian’, or ‘I want to speak with an american because you have accent’, no one would feel happy. or sometimes they just say that they don’t understand you because you say something they don’t agree with, even thou they understood you all the way until that point. one other thing, IT’S NOT ALWAYS OUR FAULT, as you all seem to think. if I say ‘press 1,2,3′ and you press 5,*,8, it’s not because the Fucking Indian doesn’t know how to do his job. on the other hand, if I have to bear with a customer for 50 minutes because he’s a very old person who can barely follow my instructions, I gladly do so, because it’s my job and it’s the right thing to do. i have no problem at all with that.
About johannes advise of not adding the airtime before having the phone working, I thing that’s the wisest thing to do. in the event that the phone is not working, you can transfer the units from one phone to another, there’s no problem about that; but the problem is when a cust takes the phone back to the store to have it exchanged before calling us. in that case, I’m sorry, but you should have called us; you lost the units becasuse they are stored in the phone, so, if you don’t have it, there’s no way to probe tha you had them.
basically, we’re here to help, but anything we do is useless if the other party doesn’t cooperate or wants to do things their way.

Also, let me make clear that I am always very friendly on the phone. I never had a problem understanding the Net10 people. Whenever I call, I just say “my phone is still not working, what do we do?” So they give me some codes and read me some text. Fine by me, but not much progress yet. They say my phone may be incompatible with my area. But a GSM phone in Chicago? Aren’t there hundreds of thousands of people doing the same thing?
I just spoke with Net10 again. Whenever you call them they ask you type in 2 or 3 codes and then they say “please wait 72 business hours”. I mean Come On, 72 business hours, that is a LONG time. I don’t want to buy something in the store and then have to wait 10 days for it to maybe start working. And if it doesn’t work then they give you a new SIM card and tell you to wait another 72 business hours (=10 days!) At that pace it will take a month or so until the phone works.
Right now I’m thinking about getting a T-mobile go phone instead. If I ever get the Net10 working I can still use it for 300min or so, which would still be okay.
How does Net10 make any money? I would think they make their money when people buy minutes, right? And they loose some money up front by selling phones at a discount price. But what if nobody gets the phone working and never gets to the point of being able to use minutes? Doesn’t Net10 loose lots of money by giving phones to people that are never able to buy minutes? Don’t get me wrong, its a great product and I would love to use it and pay for it, but I can’t until my phone starts working.
The problem in my case was that my sister did not tell me the terms of the offer except in very vague way because she wanted to surprise me. She did tell me to send her an email when I received the package, which was sent from TracFone in Indiana, so that we could both receive some sort of benefit. There was no information in the packaging about the promotional offer, so I figured that I should activate the phone. There were references to promo codes but I didn’t have any to enter. My sister probably should have been more specific, and there was really no surprise, except when I found that the phone did not qualify for the offer. I have spent hours of wasted time trying to correct this misunderstanding, but the final offer I received was for 50 minutes for each of us, which is worth about $10. Now TracFone has lost my business and any possible recommendations to others. I am spending more time venting my frustrations here and elsewhere, but it makes me feel better. This is not about a few free minutes, but about corporate stupidity.
Since Tracfone and Net 10 are essentially the same, will a Tracfone work on the Net 10 Network?…I can’t see buying a new phone if it will…Their setup seems to be exactly the same

Schoen claims that there was no info on the packaging but we have many promotions, instructions etc. ther is no way that all the info can be printed on the packaging that is why we have a users guide,website and the call centers. I would recomend you that if you have any questions you call us instead of asking the retailer’s employees because most of the times they give wrong or incomplete information like Joey_ramone Said if you take a phone back to the store you may loose your minutes because all they say is “Call the 1800 number and give them the esn” but in order for us to transfer units/minutes we must have both phones at the same time to enter codes into the phone that is “defective” and if for any reason you are not able to turn the phone on it is better if you exchange the phone with us so that when we create a warehouse case we also create a units/mnutes verification case because if the phone is returned to the store it is automatically deactivated from our system and then we cannot verify the units.
I’ve had a Nokia 1100 TracFone for over a year now. And between August and just a few days ago (I was “between” broadband VoIP providers … waiting for the FCC e911 mandate to take effect), the TracFone was my only telephone. The only time I ever had to call customer service was when I first bought it … and only to get specific instructions on disabling the ringer and voicemail (since I wanted it for outgoing calls only). It’s still set up that way and is now used only as an emergency backup phone in case my VoIP service dies, either through power failure or broadband service outage. In all this time, I’ve never had any other reason to call customer service because my TracFone has performed splendidly. One note.
One note. Nokia makes 2 model 1100s - the GSM-P4 and GSM-P5. The P4 model will work in some areas where the P5 will not … and vice versa. I suspect this is why some people say it’s a great phone and why others say it’s lousy … because they simply bought an incompatible model. Solution? Call TracFone first to see which model is compatible in YOUR area.
I was wondering the same thing about the networks. Can I buy a tracfone and use it with Net10? They have the same phone models.
Matt: you cannot buy a tracfone and use it with net10 even if you call us , when you buy a phone people from the store scan it and it is automaically activated in our system if for example you buy a tracfone and call net 10 to activate it the Imei number of the tracfone will not be registered on the sytem then the agent will ask you to call tracfone, tracfone and net 10 have the same models however the tracfone’s Imei’s are not registered on net10 and viceversa

I would like to report the successful resolution to my problem with the TracFone Refer-a-Friend promotion. A TracFone Customer Rep named George called me and gave me a code which gave me the 100 minutes originally promised. When he called, I already had the phone packed up and was ready to take it to UPS. I will try the service for 2 months and decide if I want to continue with it. My opinion on TracFone is now about neutral. I would feel a lot better if I had not had to go through such a hassle.
I transferred my minutes from an old tracfone to my new one and they shorted my 100 minutes. I called and when I finally got a real person on the phone he kept putting me on hold two minutes at a time for an hour, speaking with supervisors, etc. Finally he told me to call back in a month..I told him I wouldn’t go through this all again, that all I wanted was my minutes which I had paid for…So I guess I’ll find a new service when my minutes run out. I’ve called before and usually all I get is a run-around.
D Turner: This is what happens if we cannot verify the amount of minutes by entering codes into the old phone we send the info to another dept for verification, if the codes are not matching with the info that we have registered we also send the infor to this dept to validate the correct amount of minutes, it takes one month because this dept verifies the calls that you have made and receive, we are NOT telling you that you will not receive your units we HAVE to follow this procedure and we will give you the correct amount of minutes however you will HAVE to wait if you want your minutes and you have to call us with your CASE number thats all you have to do, so !Just wait!!!
So I finally sent my Net10 phone back for a refund, exactly 14 days after I activated it. It never worked. I spent many hours with customer service, punched in dozens of codes and waited and waited. 1 week ago they told me they would send me a new sim card. Yesterday I called them again and they told me “it should ship any day now”. I’m a pretty geeky guy and never have problems with tech stuff. But what do you do if you sit there and wait for your phone to start working?
So I got a T-Mobile Go Phone. It’s actually a much better deal for about the same money. The $100 card is 10cent/min and lasts 1 year, with Net10 you spend at least $180 per year. T-Mobile also gives you an email address and free access to CNN.com. You don’t see the minutes you have on the front screen, but you can enter #999# and you get the result within 2sec.
Chuck…finally got my issue with tracfone resolved….couple of days after talking to them they sent me the code for the other 100 minutes via e-mail….worked great. Am now a happy camper.

I have had many problems with tracfone, me and my wife both have one each. I have the year plan and the double min plan.
I’m not going to go into all the problems I have had with tf but one big one was they gave my number away and this happend after I was on the year service plan. and they wouldn’t give me my number back. but the new problem is this
I waited to get the new pricing for 2006 you can get 250 mins for the old price of 200 so on the first I go to radio shack I tell the guy about the new pricing he had no clue about it so being I’m on the double min plan I expect 500 mins for 50 bucks what I get is 450 not 500 I tell the guy at radio shack something is wrong he says call tracfone.
it’s been 3 days and I can’t get thru to tracfone and now they say high volume and it just hangs up. oh one other think I also had a promo code and radio shack said there was no way they could ad the code… So if any of the so called people that work for tracfone want to help , how about picking up the phone when I call ? that would be a start.
Good thing I’m using a land line to call them 20 times a day only to be hung up on. wonder how may mins I would have wasted by now. Tracfone just doesn’t get what a sucko job the customer service people are doing…….
The thing that gets me nuts is I can call net10 and get an answer and I know there in the same call center but they won’t transfer me to tracfone support. also if there the same company why isn’t tracfone offering 10 cents a min

D Turner: Glad to know that your issue was resolved, most of the times you just need to be patient. I agree 100% with Joey ramone, some customers complaint about things they don’t even understand and most of the times they just need to READ, if they are so lazy and want somebody else to read the info for them they can call the 1800 number,don’t ask people from retailers about promotion they will not have the info or they will give you wrong info. I understan that we received Tracfone calls and net 10 calls however we are not authorized to answer net 10 calls when you call tracfone and viceversa, if you call net 10 we actually transfer the call to a “tracfone agent” otherwise we would be penalized and we would have a low QA score.Like I said befor you HAVE to be patient otherwise you will only get upset and your issue will not be resolved, we work really hard and I bet that an “American” would never like to work with people that complaint about each and every little thing
On Tracfones web page it says new 2006 rates , this does not look like a short time once only promotion I’m going to head to the web site pull the text and post it then you can tell me how my double mins don’t apply and why I still can’t use the coupons along with my double mins K ?

Here is the story of Tracfone giving my cell number away to another tracfone user, he didn’t want my number and I didn’t want his.
I just got the 1 year service with the double mins plus 300 min forget what I paid /think 129 , I also got my wife a trac fone that day to keep in her car, we live in the sticks and I tryed every service before could not get service at my home so I tryed tracfone and got service to my house, so using tracfone is not that I have any other choice. so we go to get her phone up and running, lol
well that took a week we had to return the phone lost mins
and time on the phone with tech support. but while on the phone with tech support I tell them I have service on my tracfone, they ask for my serial number and my phone number , so I give it to them. next day low and behold I now have no service. now I calling in 2 tech service calls
turns out the gave my number away the one that I had printed on 1000 bizz cards, they gave it to some other guy , gave his number to someone else ect ect ect. Never got my old number back customer support worn me down to a nub so I gave up and took any new number they gave me , and all the while they were saying it’s my fault , like you do here on this forum saying people are stupid, tell me I’m stupid.

TracFone offers a yearly service plan with double mins for 129 dollars USD. I would think that is geared to people who use the phone alot and don’t want to lose there phone number
and have to get a new number after 30 days, seems to me you have it backwards what your markets are……

You talked about how many calls you take and you never get a break. That is not the end users problem. If tracfone has 66 million users they should staff up for the amount of calls that are going to come into the call center as well as upgreading the VOIP phone system so people may get thru.
To me it looks like the didn’t add any new people but just split the staff to take the New Net10 calls. Like I said you always want to blame the end user when in fact it’s tracfones problem, by the way I like when my phone works I even put a free ad on my web site for both tracfone and net10 if you click on my name go to my site you will see it on the bottom left hand side, so the only thing I’m upset about is the poor service and how you keep saying it’s our fault…….. That what people do when they don’t do there jobs……..
Well I was right the new 2006 phone rate on 250 mins is 49.99 if you have the double min plan you get 500 mins and if you have the coupon for 200 mins code it gives you 30 mins on top of that. I had to call net10 and beg them to get someone from tracfone on the line waited 3o mins but got someone on the line that at first was saying it wasn’t a new rate till I made the go to the web site and read it, I asked her if she had a tracfone and paid 49.99 how many mins whould she expect to get ? she finely said 250 mins
asked her if she paid for the double mins service how many mins she would get, LOL had her doing some math, anyway I got what I paid for…… nothing more and nothing less..
and it should’nt have been so hard or taken so long…..

I should have not lost my number because I had the year long service and should not have been at risk of losing my cell number, once again. You should read what the web page says..
During the first 60 days from phone activation, when you add a single 40, 100, 200, or 400-minute TracFone Prepaid Wireless Airtime card, your active service period or due date will extend 60 days from the date the new card is added. After your first 60 days from phone activation, when you add any one of these cards, your due date will be extended 60 days from the current due date to a maximum of 120 days. When you add two or more of these cards during or after your first 60 days from phone activation, your due date will extend to a maximum of 120 days from the date the new cards are added.
The due date can be extended past 120 days, up to 365 days from the date you add a TracFone 1 year prepaid wireless service card or Double Minute prepaid plan card. The due date can be extended to a maximum of 730 days from the date you add any combination of the 1 year prepaid wireless service card and/or the Double Minute prepaid plan card.
If you do not purchase and add additional airtime prior to the due date, your TracFone service will be deactivated and you will lose your TracFone phone number. The cell phone has become important part in peoples lives, they give the number to friends, family, business partners so people can have instant access to that person, people put that number on business cards letter heads ect ect ect.
What sence would it make or what kinda business pratice
would be fair if that number kept changing every week ?

Screw it! I don’t care if I get fired, this has to be said.
To all the people who are getting a raw deal from TracFone:
1. We get little (5 days) of training. Most of the agents on the floor learn the procedures from other agents, it’s a trial by fire.
2. About 60% of the people who work as a customer service rep don’t know what they are doing, they will just BS you untill something kinda works.
3. The amount of stress we get put through would cause most people to quit. [btw, the turnover rate at the building I work is huge! most people are there for way less then 6 months {it’s mostly 2-3 months}].
4. “Stress Management” is a forign concept.
5. All we can usually do with a fone that is not working is:
reprogram the phone[which requires about 15min of time and 9 lines of code into the Phone. 1 line of code = about 21 numbers]
Make up a case for the local carrier [usually Bell, 360, or BAM], their techs take a look at it. You, the customer, call back in about 24h, it may be working then. *Note* if this doesn’t work, we go back to “i”, do all the codes over, resend the case, wait another 24 hours, and if it’s not working then, you send the phone into the Tracfone warehouse in Miami [you pay the S&H to send it]. then replace it with a used [aka Reconditioned] fone.
I have personally seen reconditioned phones that don’t work getting sent to the customer, the customer then calls us, gets bounced around the automated system, finally he may get someone who knows what to do [which is about a 40% chance], they yell, scream, swear [I have had all of these, and personally, I don’t blame them.] at us, and all we can do is try to get them to send the phone back into the warehouse [again they pay the S&H to ship it to us], and there is a good chance that the 2nd phone we send them may not work.
Then the process starts all over again! I HAVE HAD IT!

I rec’d a Tracfone as a Christmas gift, don’t know where it was purchased, could be Target or Walmart… It remains unopened, still in the blisterpac. If the IMEI number is behind the battery pack then it could not have been read by the store, unless it’s somehow linked to an outside package number viewable or scannable. So, with that established, can this phone be activated as NET10 instead of Tracfone? It is basically a virgin unit. Any comments welcome, Thanks!

First of all, there is NEVER a valid reason for yelling and/or name calling. Racism is ignorant. With that being said, the tracfone representatives are just as guilty as Americans for being ignorant. They are complaining about racist remarks, yet coming on here and calling all Americans stupid, etc. How unbelievably ignorant and ridiculous! I am an American. I am ALWAYS kind and polite. I have never made a racist remark in my life. However, It is frustrating when I am trying to resolve an issue and I cannot understand the person on the other end of the phone. That is not being racist. It is also not the fault of the tracfone representative. They are merely trying to earn a living. It is the fault of tracfone (along with other companies) for not ensuring that their employees are able to clearly speak English.
But, to the tracfone representatives, sometimes it IS YOUR FAULT. Everyone makes mistakes. And sometimes you are rude to people for no reason. My issue ended up being the fault of tracfone. And the rude customer service did not help. Tracfone sent the wrong sim card for my area. Finally, after several phone calls to the overseas call center, I spoke with a supervisor at the executive resolutions department. He was an American. He immediately solved the problem and sent the correct sim cards. He was polite and helpful. I am sorry that some people insult you. But I never have. So why are you on here being racist against all Americans? We do not appreciate it anymore than you do. Your attitude only fuels the problem and creates more hate and misunderstanding. Peace to all.

If you say “one moment” and you wait more than 15 seconds without saying one moment again you get a low score, In the past if a customer would said “I don’t understand you ” the agent would get a 0(zero) as score for the week if and agent would get 2 zeros then they would fire the agent and that is not fair because sometimes Old people calls(I don’t have anything against old people) and they are kind of deaf and they say “I cannot understand you” Instead of “I cannot hear you” so Tracfone is also wrong.I think that customers,employees and Tracfone are wrong but not 100% and obviously not all customers and employees are wrong we receive calls from customers that are really polite and patient and we also have agents that are not 100%polite but if an agent is not polite and the call is being monitored the agent gets fired inmediatly, if you spoke with an agent that was rude and the call was being monitored I am pretty sure that he or she was fired.PS

Michelle: We don’t have the tools that the executive resolution dept has, even if you speak with a call center supervisor. ERD can contact the corporate office,warehouse,line management and get an anwer inmediatly, a supervisor can also contact them however they will not get an answer inmediatly, they would get an answer in 24-48 hours so if you spoke with an American and the problem was solved inmediatly it is not because he is American is just that they get answers inmediatly.
Sputnik: You cannot use a tracfone with net10 because the tracfone’s Imeis are not registered with net 10 and viceversa even if you get a net 10 simcard the tracfone can only be activated with tracfone.
Defly Zero: The post you found is not updated at all we don’t even have a call center in Canada anymore, agents from Canada were relly rude (they had customer service dept and technical dept) so I actually had to call them back in 2002 and 2003 to fix some problems with airtime cards etc. but they were relly rude.That is why the call center was transferred from Canada. Procedures are now different for example: Customers don’t pay for shipping anymore Tracfone sends a prepaid airbill (an envelope)with the phone (so you dont have to sent the phone first, they tried sending phones overnigth but that did not work) people from the warehouse are AMERICANS and in some cases customers wait for 1 month to get a phone even though people from the warehouse are AMERICANS and if we send the info over and over again we would receive the same answer wait 3 more days so if tracfone hires only AMERICANS the problem will not be fix at all,you would have more problems and people would not accept the kind of treatment that SOME customers give they will not accept all the pressure that we get and definitely they would never accept the payment that we get they would like to receive at least $5,000 a month to deal with people like Defly Zero, I know people like him if we would asked him to make a test call and he uses 1 unit he would ask for 20 in compensation.

that means that you have to add airtime once(you would get the old prices)and you would become elegible(for future redemptions) I would need your Esn Or Imei to verify if you were actually elegible for the new prices when you added the 200 units, more likely you got the units because either the agent was tired of hearing you or simply he or she did not know about this restriction

Chuck: Thanks for the answer on Tracfone hardware nix Net10! I still haven’t opened the Tracfone package because I’m trying to find out all the caviats to getting the most freebies at activation time. (NOTE! I admit that I want to go with Net10 but this phone was a free gift to me with a $20 card so I am somewhat ‘family’ obligated to use it, burn off the minutes before diving into the Net10 fracus.)
Now I see a LOT of ebay lists where people offer 120 FREE minutes to unactivated newbies. Sputnik: you are right what you found is a referral, if some one refers you, that person would get 100 units too, there is no restriction on the amount of referrals, What I would recommend you is find a Friend or a Family Member that owns a tracfone then go to http://www.tracfone.com/safc.jsp?task=promo&bid=60 and enter all the info required, you will need to enter your friends e-mail address(because suposedly he or she is referring you) then your e-mail address, you will receive an e-mail,once you receive that e-mail just follow the steps to get the free units, you have to activate your phone after you have received the referral e-mail if you activate the phone before receiving the e-mail you will not qualify for the promo, once you follow the steps you just need to wait 24-48 hours then you and your friend will receive another e-mail with a pin number or a link to get 100 units, you will get 100 and you frine will also get 100 and like you said if you activate the phone on the web you will receive 20 units for the 1st time activation

Hey nobody has added any more notes what is going on_?
Just started my Net10 took 3 phones to get it right.
1st phone, activated it but somehow the zip code was liked to the wrong area code. Was told wait 5 to 10 days for a new sim or take the phone back to the store.
2nd phone, tried to activate it over the internet, after getting the first set of codes, clicked contiune and nothing. Called customer service several times was told to wait 4 hrs and still nothing. Determined the the phone (T-mobile sim) would not work for me and that i needed to take the phone back and find a phone with a 4 on the end of the sim.
3rd phone, found a sim code 4 phone (cingular) activated it over the phone to ensure no internet problems. After typing “all” the codes, cycled the power and it appears to be working great.
What next? Well, I got to go test the phone in a few areas. If it works, I will be adding some minuets.
Why can’t there be a timer on the phone showing how many minuites your on while you talk and let people compait that to a stopwatch ? I know there is that feature on my phone but it says TracFone Disabled it, Why ?

TracFone/Net10 are customer service disasters. I can’t say the agents don’t try, but they do not appear to have the tools needed to resolve problems. Between perpetual “no service” (with several bars), unregistered SIM, and randomly changing phone number (with hundreds of minutes of purchased airtime), it isn’t worth the headache. When you try to get problems resolved they have to bump it to supervisors, then to outside groups. That’s when they shuffle you away in hopes the problem will go away. Wait 20 minutes, 2 days, a few hours, 3-5 days, etc. It’s a perpetual circle of new case numbers and wasted time. As someone else here said earlier, buy a phone and try it. If things work THEN cautiously buy additional airtime. But if the problems start you’re only out the cost of the phone.
Do NOT expect your phone number to remain the same. If there are any interruptions in service (even if you have purchased continued air and calendar time) it’s highly likely the number will have to be changed. Put the number on business cards or other business assets at your own risk. These phones are best for outgoing calls.
If you’re a TracFone/Net10 CSR, please check the noise cancelling feature on your headset. Try calling between agents if you can. In my experience your english skills are just fine but the background noise is completely crazy.

It’s just sao amazing how many of our non-indian customer service workers who seem ever so “pleasant” here by making continual racist anti-american remarks themselves rather then attempting to prove they have some semblance of reason themselves, seem to ALL choose AMERICAN names when you speak to them(including on here).
Despite the fact that most companies now use call centers outside of the states due to the fact other countries workers are willing to work for pennies on the dollar by comparision, it never ceases to amaze that these workers who often have a very heavy accent and at times it is tough to understand them clearly even for someone wwho is tri-lingual CHOOSE to use amaericanized names at the call center. Hmmm wonder why this is exactly? FYI: A large number of the call centers have rules reguarding this and actually PUSH their staff to use Americanized names rather then names in their own dialect to make the caller feel more “at ease” , if this can be done at all at times.
Of course call center workers are going to deal with frustrated customers as often times these first time users have run into countless issues(that are not service related nor are they user related) by the time they’ve come to speak with that particular worker. The idea is that the call center worker needs to be able to handle that, understand that despite the fact that the customer may be rightfully angry, it is only directed at them b/c they are the ONLY contact the customer has with that particular company. By coming on forums such as this amking continual racist and “anti” remarks, all you’re doing is making it harder on yourselves as those who do read these forums and are well informed about the products they use and purchase will definately be keeping this mind when and if they have to place a call to any of the call centers you and others work at. So of course they’re going to direct anger at you when you come to this type of forum and start directing meaningless anger and dribble at customers with legitiment complaints. BTW: it’s ironic that most of “you” have stated the same hting over and over, almost like there might only be one or two people “trolling” this forum trying to get folks to focus on you for the attention you crave.
Oh, fyi I’m a through and through Nextel user for 9 years now and for the lace year purchased a set of tracfone handsets to use at my cabin upstate where nextel hasn’t placed an antenna on the tower nearby. I’ve been incredibly happy with the service(derived from cingluar’s network as it’s GSM based) and overall having only needed a very basic handset with a few thousands minutes for the year to use while hunting/kayaking/backpacking in that particularly remote area of upstate PA(near Erie), this handset(Nokia 2600) has performed stunningly. I’ve gotten into a habit of carrying the 2600 along with my Nextel i870 just to compare services(while obviously the 2600 doesn’t have any of the advanced features as the motorola i870 does) I can easily say the signal and the call quality are and have been excellent and honestly cingular’s network does provide a larger footprint then Nextel(using the Tracfone one rate of course here. I would recommend tracfone to most users who have a similar need for thist ype of service as well as those who would only need a handset for the occassional use each month. You do have to remmember that despite the ugly anti-american comments derised from our ignorant “friends” at the call centers, all cell phone companies have websites with just these types of complaints no matter WHO you choose. Trust me on this, I’m an Admin on three of them for ht epast 3.5 years as well and own the servers they sit on(in one of my clinics currently and one sits off shore of iceland). You are always going to have folks who have issues and there are always going to be handsets that are faulty and there are always going to be some custoemr service reps who have they’re head up their arse to sayt he least. Tracfone is no better nor are they worse then any other provider, it all depends on your need as well as ytour luck of the draw at times. Simply choose wisely to suit your needs.

Dr. Joss, those people that post whom you presume as anti-americans are not anti-americans. They’re just sticking up for themselves because of those that are making those racist remarks. It’s gets frustating when someone calls the customer service rep and start yelling at the top of their tongue just because their phone doesn’t work and then calling them F**k**g Indian. When sure enough if they had read and followed the instructions maybe they could’ve have avoided the problems. Of course sometimes it’s actually the equipment that is at fault because they can break and somtimes the companies do make mistakes, but when you have customers that start acting like this, wouldn’t you feel like not it’s not worth it to help when that person is just going to continuosly yell and belittle you?
I have seen how hard many of these minorities work just to earn a decent living. Hell many of these people are willing to earn less than the American and do much for work for lower pay but DO NOT HAVE TO BE TREATED THIS WAY! AND YES I’M STICKUP UP FOR ALL THOSE MINORITIES WHO HAVE TO ENDURED THESE THINGS.
If you look at the forum, about half of these complaints are from DelflyZero. He claims to be one of those guys who helps the little guys but if you read many of his complaints you could tell that he’s only care about just getting his way and whatever he can get for free. Wait until you need a Net10 customer service rep. They do not seem to be available. I have called over a dozen times and keep getting transfered to a number that tells me it is not a working number and hangs up on me. I have filled out thier online form the same amount of times and have yet to get any response. All I needed for them to do was add the phone time I purchased at Walmart and then was told via a text message that the transaction had failed. I just want what I have paid for. Until this time, I had not had any problems with the phone or service. But I hope that all of you singing the praises of Net10 never need a customer service rep.

Also in the CSRs defense . . . wow can people be rude and yes people do try to get something for free when they don’t deserve it. Tell me how you deal politely with someone insisting that they should get something for free when they know they don’t deserve it and yell and scream. And yes call center reps often do not get enough training before they hit the floor. And where I work, if you ask 5 people the same question, you’ll get 5 different answers. And to make it worse, call center pay is better than fast food but not much. How wonderful to make $8 an hour to be screamed at all day long. And if these CSRs are in Latin America they aren’t getting that much. And they probably don’t work for TF they probably work for SITEL or Convergys or West. One of the big 3rd party call center companies.

This is my first experience with Tracfone.
Last sunday I decided to go for Tracfone’s deal where you buy 250 minutes and you get a free refurbished Motorola v170 for $50. Unfortunatly, due to some wierdness the 250 minute card that came with the phone when it arrived today had a net10 pin rather than a Tracfone pin, which would not work with the phone. It looks exactly like a tracfone card with their branding and everything, with no mention of net 10. Strangly the number that was under the scratchoff part of the card seems to be a net10 number. I spent at least an hour and a half on the phone with the customer service rep until she finally managed to get ahold of some other department she had to get ahold of to get my issue elevated. At least an hour of that was trying to get ahold of some department to verify what I had ordered, and verify that I was entitled to the minutes that came with the phone. So now I’m supposed to wait for a call sometime within the next 48 hours for when her supervisor calls to give me a pin that will give me the minutes I paid for. How a net10 pin number somehow got onto a 250 minute Tracefone phone card, I was never able to get an explanation.
If any of customer service reps reading this thread have contact with anybody at the Indiana shipping center, please get them to check the cards they are sending out with those phones since Tracfone extended that offer to March 2nd. I’m sure I’m probably not the only one who ended up with this wierdness happening.
I have to agree with NightmareOnFoneStreet. The customer service reps really don’t have the tools/authority to deal with serious issues. As I said, it took an hour and a half, mostly on hold for the lady to manage to get ahold of somebody to get this issue anywhere at all. So I now have to wait and hope I happen to be around my apartment phone when her supervisor calls. So in the end she was not able to fully handle an issue like this on her own or take care of the entire issue within a single call, which ideally customer service should be able to do. She was very courtious, and seemed to be trying to help. She even tried walking me through the activiation process over the phone till we ran into problems with the pin number. That is something I would not expect customer service to do this day and age. I would instead expect them to send you to an automated system and have to call again when problems arrise. As customer service reps go, I thought she was doing the best she could in the situation.
Considering it took her that long to be able to get in contact with anybody to advance the issue, it sounds like the other departments either need to hire more people to take care of things like this faster, or they need to give the customer service reps more power. The fact that they have to have a supervisor call separately to give a new pin, once it has been verified that there has been a major screwup with the phone card issued, is an unessesary pain in the butt for everyone involved in my eyes. The customer service rep has to bother the supervisor, the supervisor has to deal with yet one more thing, and the customer has to wait longer.
At this point I went ahead and bought a 100 minute phone card so I can use the phone till I get the minutes that were supposed to come with the phone. I will post again as the issue progresses to let anybody who is interested if this ends with a happy ending or not.
This is what you will need to do: Do not wait until somebody calls you, call back, explain the situation and ask the agent to contact Toss support, they have received the info about the mistake that was made by the Direct Sales dept and they already have aut to give what you paid for manually so do not wait just call back
I´ve read all the comments left on this website and you know custs sometimes get really irritated with some reps and I understand them, I´m from It Toss and mostly receive calls from another reps and specially those from geo they don´t know how to place you on hold to go back to the cust they just dropped the call, they call with an invalid pin and without the SNP, I mean we don´t have a way to guess the correct number that why we NEED the SNP and they get really upset we we try to explain them that, come on. No comments about blz or geo supervisor they don´t have a clue about what they are doing. To other reps do you know why sometimes we need to escalate calls regarding cust trying to get free units, cause reps from blz, col, gtu and geo just give free units without reason I mean it does not make sense, I found cases saying issuing 100 units cause the cust lost the airtime card, COME ON!!!!!.
And when cust calls again we get them asking for more and more free units. Actually I think the problem is SOME Tracfone reps don´t get enough training to figure out how the system works or when the redemption fails and issue compensation units. I simply don´t understand when reps from those call centers are being monitored, I think people in Miami needs to realize this is making our service poor every day. No hard feeling with reps from other call centers, guys is not your fault I know.
I agree with you carrie but you know what agents from rosario or Cordova are doing basically the same thing, they give units because a card is Inactive posa and the customer has waited over 3 weeks #$@%$%!!!, Do you think that they are following the correct procedure???? Even if there is a message that says “Do not issue More units” Agents from cordova or rosario give out minutes if I find a case I will post it here to proof that this agents Don’t know how to identify a Fraud situation

hi. Im a tracfone rep, since 1 year. I was reading carefully all this info you’ve posted. And i want to tell u what i think about this. Or my point of this….
1- The customer: Customers are really different. As reps, of course. I got phone calls from very polite and lovely people (most old or seniors citizens) thanking you a lot for “you patience” and “everything you did for me”. Or asking you “how i can talk with you again” or people saying “you voice is really clear”. From… 20-30 phone calls i can talk in one day i got these kind of phone calls… of people answering “you re wellcome” everytime you said “thank you” or, people who does not have any IDEA about what they are doing and also got a bad, racist attitude… Well, people is quite different.
Fortunatly, the most people is polite and they allow you to help them, even if they area having difficulties to doing something with their phone.
But of course people is hard sometimes, and what a rep needs to do is to learn how to deal with that kind of people. Because as rep you should be professional, even if you are in INDIA, latin america or elsewhere. And being professional means do not take anything the cust is saying as personal and help the cust the most in the issue.
Of course, if the cust is racist and cursing, you can be firm and let them know, politely “im not treating you in that way, if you go ahead i will not be able to assist you”. With that, an unpolite cust will know how to treat you….But fortunatly, you dont need to use this a lot.
And about the reps language….. well… course we are not native speakers…. but, at least in my case, i put all our efforts to talk like a native, or as clear as possible. And anyway, people is complaining because they previously know that “you are not an american”. First thing they said is “i dont understand”. anyway, this will not affect us anymore if you have the hability to deal with these kind of customer.
2. About american language: EVEN THAT CUST ARE NATIVE, THEY DONT SPEAK THE LANGUAGE IN A CORRECT WAY. THEY USE JARGONS LIKE “THE WHOOOO??” OR “YEAH” OR “GONNA” “GIMME”
OR “I DO HAVE THE ESN” WHICH IS INCORRECT IF YOU CHECK ON ENGLISH GRAMMAR.
i already know that some reps are terrible with the language… but well maybe the company should make sure they are selecting people with great skills. and most of my partners are people that was living outside my country,most cases in US, or people that did YEARS of english and a lot of exams. One guy is the son of a person who was living in US 10 years… one lady was living in England 1 month … i did like 10 years of english….
3. About american reps. Well, everyone who is working in tracfone knows that some deps are located in Usa. everyone who is working with tracfone could tell you the way they answer a call when you talk with them, even that TRACFONE said that you should treat everyone into the company or out the company the same way.
Well, i was talking several time with those people in Carriers or Number portability LOCATED IN “AMERICA” …. and THEY ARE AMERICANS AND REALLY NASTY and unpolite PEOPLE WHO DOES NOT HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT HOW TO TREAT A CUSTOMER. ONCE I TALKED WITH A GUY ON THE INTERNATIONAL LONG DISTANCE DEPT…. an unpolite person

And to be honest with you im sorry for the cust lots of time, because the product is not a bad product, but if you purchase one phone like this you the BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS READ THE USER GUIDE. WHICH 90 % OF THE PEOPLE DONT DO, BECAUSE THEY SEEM TO BE WAITING THAT A REP SHOULD READ THEM THE INFO.
i was talking several times with people making INTERNATIONAL CALLS with their tracfone from outside USA, which is “NOT allowed” and the terms and conditions say this, anyway cust are calling saying “the phone is not active or working” and then…When you are saying to them you were making international phone calls and thats not allowed they take a defensive attitude even that the phone is having a “NATIONWIDE coverage” (what does that mean? INTO USA, NOT OUTSIDE!!!! )
ON THOSE CASES THEY SHOULDN COMPLAINT, BUT OF COURSE….

customers are angry with hold times, thats certainly understandable. but what they dont know is how long it takes to you to have a supervisor to take their call, since they were agents and refuses to take the customers calls. or since you call a dept and in some days could take 15-20 minutes to someone who answers your call.
as a rep before calling someone else, in most cases (not all cases) you try to do anything….

and for you to know petaca im tired to take phone calls from cust complaining that reps in other call centers were activating a tracfone in a different area just to avoid not to replace a tracfone. WHAT AN IDIOTS THEY ARE!!! because that mistake causes BIG PROBLEMS to customers. and its something easy to resolve.
Instead of explaining the problem to the cust in the way the problem is, and the solution to the problem most people is doing something incorrect!
Commonly, those cust are calling complaining about long distance from landline, or saying they dont have signal and the phone is not working (certainly, cause the phone might be working with signal from another area)
Finally, its better to change the phone on the begining of the problem instead of having to transfer units from another tracfone.
and yesterday i talked to a cust who was told that her phone is going to be reactivated when her phone was past due…. guess who talked the cust that kind of lie….
i know the difference cust are talking about. i got as i said mexican customers trying to talk english….(i dont know why if they could have spanish customer service) and they dont have any idea about how to talk in english….

AND if they ASK ME which is the phone they will receive… i tell them “the warehouse is working with a stockj and they have a nokia 2126 which is not a flip phone but it has features like your motorola, and color screen and its our newest phone digital model we can offer currently”

fuera de joda, me parece totalmente injusto q un agente bueno (yo no se si soy bueno o no, pero cumplo con todas las metricas perfecto, en parte x q tengo solo redemptions y CC) q tiene todas llamadas de 3 minuos tiene q trabajar mas x uno q tiene llamadas y las alarga x q es malo. al tener llamadas cortas, como no hay mas after call, tengo 15 llamadas por hora, cuando un agente mediocre tiene 3. al menos al tener after call, si uno hace las llamadas bien y rapido, se premia x q si atiende 12 llamadas por hora, tiene 10 minutos mas de descanso q uno q atiende 2 llamadas.

Since I’ve been contemplating the purchase of a Tracfone, I read thru the comments. I found them to be entertaining at times, disturbing at others, but nevertheless, have decided to steer clear of Tracfone. Everybody take a deep breath now, and repeat after me….I’m going to my happy place……

FUCK!!! i have been working in tf care center (gtu) for about 6 months now. i don’t mind to much about cust, i help them, when they are polite, i take time to assist them, when they are not…. well waht can i do, ist’s my gob to take their shit.
the only complain i have, would be with the clarify… what a fucking waste.
on TOSS SUPORT, the NAP is the fucking stuped thing. i’ve receive some cust complains regarding the area code they receive, in NAP it will said (local non-roaming…. yeah right if they dont even receive the correct area code) so the thing is, i would like a toll in the clarify in wich i can check in wich zip code we have the area code the preffix the cust is requesting, becouse i have to go everytime checking with a lot of zip codes until i find one that has the tec available, has the correct area, has the stuped preffix and available lines as well. fucking tired. meanwhile i need to be telling cust “i’m verifying info, plz be a little patince with me” evry 15 secons, if not, bye bye QA bonus. SHIT. and we have to had 90 QA to hearn those 500 bucks. double SHIT.
one last thing…. what wrong with LA dept…. all the fucking vm cases are not being resolved, the instruccions they leave are not accurate, every fucking time a got a vm case, i not the FUCKING VOICE MAIL BOX NUMBER is wrong on the case… would it be so hard to update the LA dept….. the voice mail box number for all phones and carriers is 1 area phone number. shit. and i hate the fucking auto-in as well….. i have none. FUCK!

What have we learned here….TF is NOT in India and their Rep’s speak many languages none of which is English. Hew Dwolf if your phone shows no service that means that your phone is not getting any reception, it has nothing to do with the minutes, you could have 2,000 minutes and 2 years of service, but if your phone shows no service you will not be able to use it, there are 3 possible reasons for your phone to show that message 1.There is no signal on the place where you are located 2.There is a problem with your number or it is not active on the wireless system 3.Your phone or your sim card is defective. To determine what the problem is this is what you have to do 1.Try to use the phone in a different area , lets say like 5 or 10 miles from where you are. 2.If you get reception in a dif area that means that the problem was the area where you were located, if the phone still shows no service you have to call 18008677183, we will give you some codes and if the problem is not fixed we will contact the Line Activation Dept, if they cannot fix the problem that means that the problem is either with your phone or your simcard, they will tell us what we need to exchange, basically that’s why your phone shows no service, by the way we do speak many languages including “ENGLISH” and like you said Americans refuse to read the manuals otherwise you wouldn’t be asking why your phone says No service, on the Nokia or Motorola Manual it is specified that if your phone shows no service it is because you have no signal and it has nothing to do with the amount of minutes that you have

Hey Pet…Just in case you got the wrong idea I was using sarcasm. I have had this phone and used it in the exact area I am now for over a year with no problems with signal reception. Just woke up one day and whammo…no signal. called the number three times on three days and they advised me that they would re-activate my phone each time….so far this has not worked. I was actually more curious if the phone or the sim card could just go bad and cause this particular problem. I have not been given any codes to try yet but I have a case number and maybe that will be the next step. Believe it or not, I am being very patient and giving customer service due respect. P.S. I mentioned the minutes only to iterate that this was not due to an issue with minutes renewal such as exceding the due date without purchasing more minutes and having the phone de-activated. I appreciate your input!
I googled ampd mobile Shame. It’s basically verizon and is similar to boost mobile which is not a pay as you go service but requires a minimum 18 month contract. As far as I’m concerned, I personally don’t think that it seems all that great. The only thing good about ampd mobile is that their rates are much better than cingular, sprint, and nextel. The service is just like Boost mobile & Virgin Mobile which is more of entertainment and it is more catered to young demographic. I still question the coverage as well too, since verizon does not have a great track record from my previous experience with verizon. In my experience as well as from a few people that I have talked with that have verizon service before have had issues with dropped calls and spotty coveragte. I also did some research and found that there have been many similar complaints as well regarding to using verizon networks. I don’t want to rain down on your parade Shame but this is what my experience with Verizon is.
Also Shame, I switched over to T-mobile and for 2 years now haven’t have a problem too.
Hi my dear american friends, I work for Tracfone and Net10, I hear all your complaints and abusive language when you call. Let me tell you something, first of all, we’re not in India, believe me. We are in Latin America and we get 2,50 dollars per hour (that sounds scary? it’s true). I can tell you that the service is quite good, there are some phones that don’t work but you can buy a phone for 20 dollars! come on, you get what you pay. We have some customers that bought a TF in 1999 and they are still using it! Anyway, when we have a case created the solutions come from YOUR country, so it doesn’t matter were we are located, so please don’t remind us that we are not from America every time you call us!
And if you call and you think that the rep did not assist in all possible ways, you can always call back, maybe another representative could be more helpful. I’ve solved cases in two minutes that have been pending for months!

I received a Nokia Tracfone as a gift in August of 2004.
The first thing I did was read the User’s Manual from cover to cover.
Then I googled up Nokia’s website to see what info I could find.
Then I went to www.tracfone.com and checked all the info there. I printed out any of the info I thought I should need to know. (and keep going back to check for updates, or changes)
Over the course of a year and a half, we have bought over two dozen Tracfones as gifts for other members of our family. yes, we have a very large family!
We used the “Refer-a-Friend” promotion and sent a referral to each member of the family before we sent them the phone.
We have had a few minor problems from time to time.
We have talked with Tracfone Customer Service several times times, and are very satisfied with their help.
If you do your research and learn just how the Tracfone service and system works, and not just jump in blindly, I believe you will be just as satisfied as we all are with Tracfone.

I’m so happy to read something like this, this is something that everybody should do, read, learn and ask, instead of yell,curse and ask for compensation just because you don’t read, David you are one of the few customers that use common sense
I’ve had Tracfone for two years and have only had two issues.
1. One time, I could not get the minutes to load over the internet, and I had to call customer service. After a few minutes the problem was resolved.
2. I bought a 1 year double-minute card. The ‘Airtime Card Due’ date on my phone was not the same date as the expiration of the one year card. Thinking I was still in the one year time frame, I bought a card expecting double minutes, but the minutes weren’t doubled.
Other than that I have had NO complaints about Tracfone. I had a Nokia the first year, and it worked great. I then bought a Motorola (V60?) the second year, and had no problems with it either. I highly recommend tracfone.

i think it might happend to everyone that works at tf/net10 to receive case after case in wich ros guys mess up something (aax guys dont seem to screw things that often).
after working for some months now i’ve come to realized that there are two call centers that should have been closed a long time ago, ros and blz!!! stupid idiots both of them!!! regarding the other call centers, from time to time someone would mess something up, but seems like besides ros and blz we learn from our mistakes!!!!

IT TOSS SUPPORT no esta en rosario. En rosario no se interesan mucho porque se estan quejando de su paga y por lo que me dicen contactos de alla a nadie le interesa, y ademas el call center de rosario esta creciendo muchisimo mas que los demas y no pagan muchos de QA en relacion a la cantidad de empleados. Si tu trabajaste meses, dejame decirte que yo trabajo hace dos años y por si no sabias, belice no podria haber sido cerrado hace tiempo, porque hace solo unos meses que esta funcionando. no te preocupes, que ya vas a aprender a despreocuparte un poco y a darle un par de comp units antes que soportarlos. lo que ocurre es que hace poquito que estas y todavia no entiendes bien como se trabaja. ya veras cuando tengas un poco de experiencia. saludos!!

as you say joey_ramone, i have only been working for months now; 5 to be exact, i still do not know a lot of things about tf, for example that TOSS was not located in ros, i ask then, where the hell is located, aax??? there some guys from gtu that are TOSS agents, but since they know me they will be so polity and helpful; other times, the one who takes my call will be indeed a really mother fucker, wonder where is this dept. located then!!! i’ll ask sunday at work!!!!
regarding what you say about the amount of employees that ros has, i indeed was not aware they are growing a lot, it’s like what is happening at my country, every week we will have around 15-20 new guys, and indeed they seem to be messing up things, so i’ll say perhapps you’re right, the mistakes are made most of the times for new guys (as i did myself when i did not knew the system that well) and since ros and some other call centers in wich most of the people do not have more than a couple months, we will see them as stupid when the problem is that they are new!!! by the way, where are you located???

Belize….What a headache, they create defective phone cases when a phone does not accept the codes, they create cases on the wrong esn,when they add notes they just type “Defective phone” If they give comp units they type “Giving units as compensation”,what an Idiots!!! they are supposed to explain what the hell is happening or why they are giving compensation units, same thing happens with ros agents, they create a defective phone case and they do not explain what is wrong with the phone, If there is an existing warehouse case and the cust calls because the phone has not been sent they just add notes, they don’t escalate the case, they think that by adding notes the warehouse will read the notes but they don’t unless the case is escalated,They offer things that are impossible to do, when they give comp units they don’t give 20 or 30 they give 200 or 300, one time a sup gave 400 units because of an Inactive POSA Card (the customer did not send the fax) then the customer called with another POSA Card and another agent gave more units…. Did you receive the info that now we can transfer units from Lost/stolen/physically damaged phones?? that’s good, we don’t have to deal with those customers that are upset, now we just go ahead and transfer the units. Hey Joey you say that you have been working for tracfone for 2 years, did you ever called toss when they were in Canada?? they were really rude, but if you call cordova all they say is Your sup will have to escalate it… either they don’t know what to do or they don’t want to do it if you call tgu you wont have that problem, If you call CC they always say “my system is down call back again” and that happens after we have waited over 20 minutes, the good thing is that this does not happen with all agents and I’m talking about toss and CC, but belize agents..I would say that 99% don’t have a clue of what they’re doing

This blog is unbelievable! I bought a Net10 phone from Target today because I’ve been looking for a pay as you go plan to replace my overpriced Nextel plan. Well, after reading posts about legitimate problems and responses from alleged CSRs, I am returning this phone to the store, first thing in the morning.
I have been a rep, so I know it is hard work. The problem is universal; 90% of the customers are reasonable, 10% are a-holes. Dealing with the A-holes is frustrating but part of the job. But to call customers (in this case all Americans) idiots? You guys have a lot of rage, and I don’t think its all about the job. Sorry, but I’m taking my business elsewhere.

indeed charles we lost another one… but you see, what most of americans dont seems to get is that we are not complaining about them, we are complaining about people that is racist, rude, impatient and thinks that every problem they have is our fault. i dont know if you relized that we get payed once a month, around $450.00, so you tell me… do tou think someone in youre country would accept that job????? tracfone has over 2500 employees, if all reps are placed in the USA, our rates believe me would go far away from what customers now pay, which sends me to the next question, most of the custs would agree that the care center should be placed in america, but by doing this, would they accept to pay more for the service????

also to petaca, glad you think TOSS guatemala is good, you see, around december sussan was going to close TOSS guatemala, she wanted to take the dept to ros (that is why i thought it was located in ros) but seems like our manager spoke to a few guys in miami and we had a lot of visits and this and that, sussan changed her mind and now there were some guys that were transfered just a few days to TOSS, so if you get one of this new guys be a little patient, they are having a hard time(hard time with around 20 min of auto in…lucky fuckers).
also if you get julios from TOSS…. you get him to talked about his personalized service, i bet you’ll have a laugh every time tou get him from there on!!!

You know what JimG, i’ve checked this blog and I have read the oppinion of aprox 7-10 agents and that is not even 0.25% of the employees, most of the agents take calls and they don’t complaint because they need money and I think that over 10% of the customers we have are a-holes, I would say that aprox 25% of them are racist and all they care is where we are located, they always say we are in India and we are not, we are Latin people and we are proud of what we are, we may complaint but we don’t ask any thing for free, If we want something we work to get it but must of the customers claim compensation even if the problem is caused by them example: A customer that called today entered the wrong pin over 3 times and the phone displayed enter puk code, this cust did not call us he just entered another number over 3 times and the sim was rejected, we explained that we needed to send him a new one and he said “Ok but you will have to give me 100 units because i will be without a phone for 3 days and I should get it because of this inconvenience”…#@#% this was not caused by us but he wanted to get free units ….. Inconvenience yeah right!!!

Don’t be stupid!!! there is no call center that has 50 agents, did you read the e-mail that was sent to your VM a couple of months ago, according to that e-mail call center from ros does not pay taxes so more likely they have more agents because of that, by the way do you know what place was ros last month ??? this call center was not even on the top 3

i’ll agree, and this time, i will not only say that ros agents are really fuck up, i have an example…… you can go ahead a check case #11359294, i ros idiot create this case, promised the cust that he was going to received a motorola c343 and what this fucker did was add in the notes that cust was requesting this specific phone, the case was never escalated and on the case said REPLECEMENT PHONE: NOKIA 2126… guess wich was the phone cust received??? and cust had the DMP and 410 u pending on the nokia phone, guess what, cust start yellin at me (this time he had a justified reason) becouse this fucker never got to do the job well and not only that, this rep promised cust 100 u for inconvinience and not even add any kind of records into the case, i had to listen to the cust complain for 45 min…… so you see, ros are indeed fucked up!!!!! tRP you want depts transfered to ros, i would say why dont you just stick the microphone up your ass and let the reps that know what they are doing work!!!!
also just for you to know, we have almost 500 agents, dont know if you heard that tracfone wants the guatemala call center to be the biggest, but we just dont have enough people for the job, as petaca says, we dont care for quantity, only quality!!!

What you can do to not send or receive text messages, is to change the MESSAGE CENTER NUMBER. U’ll find the instructions in the users guide or u can call us. if you put an invalid numbre there, it will not work

petaca You just want to fight, ah? U should know that TF cannot remove ANY feature. Therefore, the SMS cannot be removed. If you do what u suggest, he will not receive sms from N10. guess what, he will still receive sms from other people and he will still be able to send them. so, it will solve NOTHING. Don’t you know nothing? and u’re the one who complaints about other agents??? It wouldn’t surprise me if I find a case that says ‘cust want to remove the sms feature. please assist. thanks!!!’. Now I’m figuring out why you’re still universal. you don’t even know the basic!!!
RCH, there is no way to remove any feature. the only you can do is to disable it by doing what I said. So, if the SMS center number is wrong, you won’t receive the messages and you’ll not be charged. Do not try to send them either, because you won’t be able to and you will more likely be charged anyway
Anyway, I suggest that you keep the sms center number in case that some day you need to send a message. just put it back in and then you’ll be able to do it. If you call us, we can give you the number, but you’ll need another phone and will take some time.

Thanks for your useful blog. So Tracfone is a Mexican company doing business in US as MVNO. Do you know if US companies are allowed to go to Mexico and set up an MVNO? I can’t find anywhere if it is allowed or not. I don’t know where to look for info either. Thanks for any help you can give me.
I for one have to say that I have had no problems with Tracfone customer service reps. If I have trouble understanding something they say I merely say “I’m sorry, I didn’t understand you” and they will politely repeat what they said. Common courtesy works.

First I like to say that I own a net10 phone and it has worked extremely well for me. I saved lots of money and the coverage area has been great. So far I only had one dropped called but it might have been the other person phone and area the person was in that was the problem.
I recently saw a sunday ad from officemax and it had advertised some net10 products. I saw the net10 phone cards which were in increments of 1000 and 1500 minutes. Net10 only had phone cards in increments of 300, 600, 1800, and 3000 minutes only on their website. I wanted to know if it was a mistake by Officemax or was net10 introducing new phone cards in increments of 1000 and 1500 minutes? I recently checked the net10 website but couldn’t find anything. If it was in fact that net10 is coming out with these new phone cards could you tell me how many access days for each of the cards?
Lastly, I would like to say that those who are not a fan of Tracfone or Net10, you have to understand that the service is aimed at people who are cost conscious. They only need it because they don’t tend to use it a lot like me. They carry no frills phones and other serivces like ringtones and other downloads for a reason. If people are into these things what it means is that you are looking for a toy and other carriers or mvnos are willing to cater to that. As far as i’m concerned Tracfone and net10 has one of the better rates than other carriers or mvnos prepaid services if you’re looking for inexpensive and no frills but reliable serivce. Unlike ohter prepaid carriers and mvnos they don’t charge access fees like most do. What this equates to is more airtime for you. I still question the customer service but I can’t make a judgemnt at the moment until I have experience it for myself. To sum it up, I’m so far satisfied with the service that Net10 has provided and will continue to use the service until i have the need to switch to a contract because it has been reliable and inexpensive for me.

Center since may 2005. I’ve had a lot of customers, some of
them lovely, and some of them a nightmare.
It’s not easy doing something on the phone when the cust
does not want to help just because you have an accent.They
treat you like trash and we need to do something about it,
because we are people that know exactly what to do, and
also we speak both languajes (english and spanish).
This company is not the best, that’s for sure, actually,
it’s one of the worsts companys, they do not care the cust,
and what they cust paid for, and we need to follow some
rules, because if we don’t…we loose our job.
We cannot make mistakes, and we have to apologize all the
time for things that we are not sorry for, because
sometimes it’s the cust fault that we have such a hard time
adding minutes, or codes on the phone. When you say..
“Press the Star(*) wich is the key that is under 7″ they
say…5? or…The whooo?
We do our best to help customers, but sometimes they do not
understand that our pacience has limits, we cannot be kind
all the time…if it takes 30 minutes to add a card to a
phone, we won’t be very happy.
Also don’t forget that this is a prepaid service, so the
policy of the company..is..once you purchase the phone you
are on your own.
Some customers are not polite and they lie, they said they
have 300 units and they have 10, or they say they do not
have units, that they need more because of the
“inconvenience they had” and then they had over 200
units..they want to add cards thay they already added and
they cry or they treat you like trash because you tell them
that you can’t add the card, they lie about how many units
they used, and sometimes they say things like.. “I had 520
units…I turned the phone off,and when I turned it back on
I had 0.0 units…”
It’s not always our fault..sometimes, the cust has a lot to
do with our behavior..

then to phoebe, i know what you mean when you say that custs keep on calling to receive comp u…. each and every of those calls i would like to deactivate the phone, or transfer the call to LOSS…. then these type of custs would receive the service they deserve (shity service couz LOSS is the fucking rudest dept of the company…. even to the very own reps)…. but since were are not able to do it, what i do is making them work at lot, these calls will take half hour and offcourse, these people will receive SHIT!!!!!! i will even take some extra time to create a very specific int about what the cust are doing (couz from time, some of this customers have learn that by exchanging the phone, theire records will go clean).

hey LCMK sometimes what happens is that to some retailers NET 10 gives them some special promotion or card. ¨The only thing that you need to make sure is that the card has the NET10 logo on the front before you paid for it to avoid any unpleaseant outcomes and call the 1-877 number and give that pin # to a CSR. Sometimes what is that the marketing dept takes 1 or 2 days afeter posting a new rate or promo to pass the info. to all the callcenters. Maybe the answer was not as complete as possible but i will look into that. Thank alot for asking i will look with them also that info.

ill agree with gibril, so tired of making those ints….. but as joey is doing, i place my custs on hold while i create the interactions (no more than 2 min per call thou), and im using notepad to copy paste the interactions i have already atach to my comp….. i have receive some miami calls and seems like it not longer forbidden to use notepad, couz noone has told me anything so far….. may be luck as well….. but to all custs that may read this post, believe if reps place you on hold a few times, its becouse we are now supposed to write a book for every single call we receive, and we have 1 min…. figure it out!!!!!!

FYI- I have been using Tracfone for almost 2 years now and have found the more you learn the cheaper it gets.
One of the most ironic things I have found is it is cheaper to just buy a new phone and toss your old one than to purchase a minutes card.
Cost of new Tracfone less than $20 with 20 minutes included, 100 free minutes with refer a friend activation plus 100 minutes on your old referring phone.
This gives you 4 months of service and a total of 220 minutes for $20.
The only thing I am wondering about is if there is a way to transfer your old phone number to the new phone rather than just keep changing numbers.

A phone number can be transfer, there are several things in play when you transfer a number from one TF to the other. First will be the Model of each phone (Old and New) by this also the techonology of each phone ( CDMA, TDMA , GSM or Analog) So to get the number transfer in one call to Cust. Care Center the phones will need to be the same tech or we need to check if the service provider will be the same for the phones and that will get you the number right away other wise this transfer will take aprox. 7 working days. depending on wich is service provider but it can be done. One other thing please if you are buying a GSM phone (only with this tech) this are the ones with the sim card on the back please do not activate this phone before calling the 1-800 because we will need to send a new sim card at no aditional cost but it will delay the process.This process can only be done by CSR so if you are looking to get the same phone number call the 1-800 number. But the must important thing is that your old phone needs to be ACTIVE at the time of the call if not this is impossible. Hope the post gives you the info you are looking for. Thanks for the info, I guess having the same number is not all that important since I have to write them down anyway, having CRS syndrome, I do have the GSM phones with the sim cards.
Tracfone gets even better: Just went through the refer a friend program by purchasing a new phone and referring myself-LOL- like hitting the jackpot in AC, got the 120 minutes 4 month service on the new phone but the bonus was on the old phone, got 200 extra minutes and 4 months activation on that one also!
That amounts to 4 months of service on 2 phones with a combined total of 320 minutes for $20!
Say what you will about the quality of reception, Tracfone does not have their own network but I believe piggy backs on Cingular’s network, I can say that I have had service any place other cell phones get service.
This has got to be the cheapest way to own a cell phone aside from the inconvenience of adding airtime.
One other problem, what to do with the box of discarded phones my system creates?

I just went to net10 website a few days ago and it was in fact true that they are having new topoff cards denominations. So the ad by office max wasn’t a misprint. They will have two new ones with $100 (1000 minutes with 180 days) and $150 (1500 minutes with 365 days). I guess they are doing away with the 1800 and the 3000 minutes one. But this is really great because these new cards have much more access days. Net10 has just gotten better and better. As of right now I will surely be a long time customer. As far as customer service go, I have not had a problem as most of the people on this forum that are complaining about. I called a fews times and they were polite, I didn’t have a problem with their accent, and they were patient and were willing to help me out as best as they could and that is all you can ask for.

Well actually net10 its giving more activation time for less money and the same 10 cents a minute rate (i just got that info yesterday also). But just keep in mind that the only downside to net10 airtime its that the acitvation time doesnt add up. What im trying to tell you is that if you buy a 1500 and 365 days May 18th and add it to your cell phone this will give until May 18th of 2007 right and on May 30th you purchase the same card this will give you only May 30th of 2007 so this wont add up till 2008 becarefull , because this is a big issue on the net10 airtime cards with costumers this applys to all card denomination from the 300 for 60 days of access
trough the 1500 for 365 days. The time of access wont add up but your minutes will they will always add up as long as the phone is active.If your phone goes pastdue the minutes reamining will deleted. I actually inderstand what you are saying. I have actually read the terms very carefully for net10 service. Unlike Tracfone where not only your minutes carry over with active service along with your access days net10 does not work the same way. If I were to buy a net10 phone card that was $150 with 365 access day and add it on may 18th 2006 the new due date will be Jan 1, 2007. If I were to run out of minutes and were to add a new card($150 and 365 access days) on July 1, 2007, my new due date will be Jan 1, 2008. Because the new card is not shorter than the original card it will have a new due date. If the card had a shorter number of access days, say 90 days only, than my origina1 due date remain the same. With all that said, I understand the terms service from net10 but thanks for your info thoguh.
The second issue of building a wall to keep out all Latin American. Personally on my opinion I don’t think that it will work anyways or can the government keep everyone out. As a minority myself I personally think that if they do it will hurt the local econmomy a lot. It is the majority number of immigrants that helps fuel this economy. What i meant to say was if i were to add the new card on Jan 1, 2006 (not may 18), my due date would be Jan 1, 2007. If I were to run out of minutes and were to add a new card with 365 access days on July 1, 2006 before my Jan 1, 2007 due date, my new due date will be July 1, 2007. The number of access days does not carry over like tracfone. And if I were to add a new card that had a shoter number of access days my due date will remain the same. Say if I add a card that had 90 days on March 1, 2006, my due date will still be Jan 1, 2007.Sorry for the confusion.

I need some help. So far I had to top of my net10 phone a few times to keep my service active. I think there might be a problem with the system becasue had I tried to topoff a few times using my phone but received a message on my phone saying that the system is unavailable. The first time I topoff using my phone I had no problems but so far I keep receiving a message that tells me the system is available. I then went online to redeem my airtime and it worked perfectly and was ablt to redeem my airtime. Could you look into that? I would appreciate it. Ok thnaks lmck, about the problem that you had, did you check the signal, sometimes if there is no enoguh signal you may have this problem, besides that if the system is busy or there are many users in your area trying to send text messages you may have that problem because when you try to add minutes your phone is sendig info via SMS, that is why we have problems if a customer has the wrong message center number stored into the phone, if the wrong number is stored, the customer will not be able to add minutes OTA(over the air)usign the cellphone itself

Mexico Works To Bar Non-Natives From Jobs
(AP) MEXICO CITY If Arnold Schwarzenegger had migrated to Mexico instead of the United States, he couldn’t be a governor. If Argentina native Sergio Villanueva, firefighter hero of the Sept. 11 attacks, had moved to Tecate instead of New York, he wouldn’t have been allowed on the force.
Even as Mexico presses the United States to grant unrestricted citizenship to millions of undocumented Mexican migrants, its officials at times calling U.S. policies “xenophobic,” Mexico places daunting limitations on anyone born outside its territory.
In the United States, only two posts — the presidency and vice presidency — are reserved for the native born.
In Mexico, non-natives are banned from those and thousands of other jobs, even if they are legal, naturalized citizens.
Foreign-born Mexicans can’t hold seats in either house of the congress. They’re also banned from state legislatures, the Supreme Court and all governorships. Many states ban foreign-born Mexicans from spots on town councils. And Mexico’s Constitution reserves almost all federal posts, and any position in the military and merchant marine, for “native-born Mexicans.”
Recently the Mexican government has gone even further. Since at least 2003, it has encouraged cities to ban non-natives from such local jobs as firefighters, police and judges.
Mexico’s Interior Department — which recommended the bans as part of “model” city statutes it distributed to local officials — could cite no basis for extending the bans to local posts.
After being contacted by The Associated Press about the issue, officials changed the wording in two statutes to delete the “native-born” requirements, although they said the modifications had nothing to do with AP’s inquiries.
“These statutes have been under review for some time, and they have, or are about to be, changed,” said an Interior Department official, who was not authorized to be quoted by name.
But because the “model” statues are fill-in-the-blanks guides for framing local legislation, many cities across Mexico have already enacted such bans. They have done so even though foreigners constitute a tiny percentage of the population and pose little threat to Mexico’s job market.
The foreign-born make up just 0.5 percent of Mexico’s 105 million people, compared with about 13 percent in the United States, which has a total population of 299 million. Mexico grants citizenship to about 3,000 people a year, compared to the U.S. average of almost a half million.
“There is a need for a little more openness, both at the policy level and in business affairs,” said David Kim, president of the Mexico-Korea Association, which represents the estimated 20,000 South Koreans in Mexico, many of them naturalized citizens.
“The immigration laws are very difficult … and they put obstacles in the way that make it more difficult to compete,” Kim said, although most foreigners don’t come to Mexico seeking government posts.
J. Michael Waller, of the Center for Security Policy in Washington, was more blunt. “If American policy-makers are looking for legal models on which to base new laws restricting immigration and expelling foreign lawbreakers, they have a handy guide: the Mexican constitution,” he said in a recent article on immigration.
Some Mexicans agree their country needs to change.
“This country needs to be more open,” said Francisco Hidalgo, a 50-year-old video producer. “In part to modernize itself, and in part because of the contribution these (foreign-born) people could make.”
Others express a more common view, a distrust of foreigners that academics say is rooted in Mexico’s history of foreign invasions and the loss of territory in the 1847-48 Mexican-American War.
Speaking of the hundreds of thousands of Central Americans who enter Mexico each year, chauffeur Arnulfo Hernandez, 57, said: “The ones who want to reach the United States, we should send them up there. But the ones who want to stay here, it’s usually for bad reasons, because they want to steal or do drugs.”
Some say progress is being made. Mexico’s president no longer is required to be at least a second-generation native-born. That law was changed in 1999 to clear the way for candidates who have one foreign-born parent, like President Vicente Fox, whose mother is from Spain.

I have had my Net10 phone for 3 weeks, works well, good coverage that has me laughing at my T-mobile friends. I like the concept, pay for what you use, with no frills or “fees” hidden in the background. I noticed that I was not able to get a SMS sent from overseas, specificly Turkey. Everything else okay though. Now about that American border….I think anyone coming here should come in the front door, say who they are and what their business is, and if they are legitimate visitors then they are welcome. People who sneak in your window or back door almost always have qeustionable motives. But it will never happen that way because Bush’s husband Vicente Fox won’t let him, and his owners want a plentiful supply of low priced labor for the jobs that can not be outsourced. I have seen this from the other side when I went to Canada and was turned back because I was a “document deficient” person. Really though, if you come in the front door and say who you are first, tell your business here, you are welcome to be my neighbor.

I have to agree with you about tmobile. They have the worst prepaid plan especially when it comes to coverage. I have heard many complaints by their prepaid customers regarding dropped calls due to spotty coverage, The reason behind this is that they have two network. one is for their regular customers and the other is their tmobile USA network for their prepaid customers. They will not let their prepaid customers go on their regular gsm network and thos with prepaid is stuck on their spotty USA network. I actually came close to going with tmobile prepaid service but hesitated because when i saw their coverage area I decided not to but chose net10 instead. As of right now net10 service is way better than i expected and i will be a long time customer for years to come. I mean you really cant beat their 10 cents a minute rate anytime anywhere and great coverage area. The last thing I want to add is that all the major carriers like cingular, vereizon, are the last thing you want to get into because you can end up paying about the same or more than their regular plan.

May 25, 2006 Emerging from a year-end rut, the economy dashed ahead in the opening quarter of this year at a 5.3 percent pace, the fastest in 2 1/2 years.
The new snapshot showed gross domestic product was even stronger during the January-to-March period than the 4.8 percent annual rate first estimated a month ago, the Commerce Department reported Thursday.
Gross domestic product measures the value of all goods and services produced within the United States and is considered the best barometer of the country’s economic fitness.
The upgraded reading on GDP, based on more complete information, mostly reflected stronger U.S. exports and better inventory building by businesses.

First to start and to make it clear… WE’RE NOT FROM INDIA!
My first tech. call, a very ignorant woman screaming at me ’cause her phone was… guess what? UNABLE TO MAKE & RECEIVE CALLS! And as it is supposed, the famous phrase “… I apologize for that inconvenience, let assist you with that.” Bull crap! Well, any way, I asked a serial of questions already known by every single TF customer, ’til I asked her for her ESN or IMEI number (for all you ignorants, ESN or IMEI is the same shit, Electronical Serial Number or International Mobile Equipment Identifier) and she gave me a big log of numbers and letters and I was like “SAY WHAT NOW!!??”, and I was wondering why the phone was not making and receiving calls. She told me that her phone was not ringing when she went on a trip to FL and the phone was into the pocket and never rang. I got worried about the big situation I had on my hands. Told her to please turn the phone on and to let me know what it displayed and she answered “the phone “don’t” even come on”, it was like the battery was not charged. Then I asked her to plug it to the charger and told me “I won’t even charge, it doen’t have a place for a charger” and got impressed! And I got worst when she told me “this phone doesn’t even have a screen”. When I got enough I asked “ma’am what kind of phone you own?” and she said “a Toshiba”. As we all know, TF models are only Motorola or Nokia (usually called Nokaya, Nikoki, Naoki, Noki, Noka, etc. what ever the AMERICAN PEOPLE calls it), I told the “lady”, “ma’am, Toshiba is not of our brands, “PLEASE”, tell me how the phone looks like” and the wonderful and magical words came out of her mouth “it has a big red round button on the top right hand corner, up, down, right and left arrow keys, the numbers and some keys that say: previous, mute, input & prog” guess what… the woman was trying to talk and was waiting to be called on a Toshiba UNIVERSAL REMOTE CONTROL. That is why I’m asking myself “they call themselves inteligents and they cannot even know what is a cell phone and what is a remote control”.
And I can find myself on this racist situation: “I wanna talk with an AMERICAN person or, an AMERICAN CITIZEN person or even worst, I wanna talk with the owner of the company”. 1) Why not they ask to talk directly with GOD if it’s possible, don’t you think it is stupid? They think that the owner of the company will be waiting for their call on a desktop trying to get their airtime units into the phone? 2) Remember, this is kindergarden knowledge, America is a continent, not a country. America begins since Greenland in the north pole, going to Alaska & Canada and ends in Chile & Argentina, so we all are american people and we are american citizens, they don’t even know where Ecuador is, or where Paraguay is located! Come on, they don’t even know where they live!
So, as I usually say all the time, GET A LIFE YA’LL TRACFONE CUSTOMERS, don’t you think we have enough with your stupid calls? Don’t you think that we are tired to get your cell phones turned on because you don’t even know where the power key is? Come on!!!! I own a Sony Ericsson palm and I learned to use it with almost all the functions in no more than 1 hour. Take a look of this, if a TracFone customer owns a cell phone like mine, they will die before he/she is able to know where the pen is located or how to take the Memory Stick Dou out of it. Thanks God becuase you gave us the inteligence to help brainless people like them.

Well, as my concern, I WANT & I HAVE TO complaint about stupid people. Since 2004 ’till today, I’ve never seen such a stupid people like ROS, BLZ, GEO, BOL & unhelpful people as COL. WHAT THE FUCK!!!!!
You know what? I a pain on my buth! Everytime I call IT for help & I get someone from ROS, with some exceptions like Silvina, she’s the only one who helps, really don’t know if she stlls workin’ as an IT agent. I was noticed in 2004 that TF closed a call center in Argentina, come on! It was prefered to close all the call centers in Argentina and leave Costa Rica opened!
BLZ, they always screw up every single phone, or every single case. I have found cases to send an airtime card to the customer because the customer purchased the airtime through the website and they never got the aritime card!!! We all know since we started to work at TF customer service that we cannot ship to PO Boxes, and ROS, BLZ, GEO and COL keeps sending stuff to PO boxes, or even worst, they don’t type the addresses on the address field, they do it on the case notes.
People at Line Activation is my other complaint. They don’t even know what they are doing. I need to call them when the carrier is closed just to escalate a stupid case to the carrier. My other pain is Credit Card dept. They never have their CITRIX working good, they just say MY CITRIX IS NOT WORKING GOOD, CALL AGAIN ‘TIL YOU GET SOMEONE WITH A GOOD CITRIX. Bull shit, they don’t want to handle calls.
Well any way, I’m getting paid because I have to assist customers and do my best. As a personal situation, I don’t need to create cases for every single call, as ROS, BLZ, GEO & COL. Example: the customer just needed to turn the phone off and back on again and those idiots create a case for line inactive, or even worst, customer just activated the phone 5 minutes ago and they create a case for line inactive. C’mon you idiots, it could take up to 3 business days! Don’t even try to tell customer that will be activated on saturday or sunday, carriers are not working on weekends. Look at this one: A ROS agent made an upgrade and did not advice the customer that the phone number is gonna be lost because the new V170 was not compatible with his old Nokia phone, and what the customer wanted to get transfered was the phone number. What the agent did is: told customer to call back once the phone is already active to send him a new sim card to attach the phone number on it, and once he gets the sim card, the phone number will be ready to be activated. When I got this very upset customer, he told me that got a diferent number. I checked all information and I found: 1) Phone number inactive on old ESN, 2) Cannot attach a TDMA phone number on a GSM phone, 3) Cannot open an internal port in case because line is inactive on old ESN, 4) Cannot attach old phone number on old phone because cingular is not make activations/reactivations on TDMA phones, so… I got stucked with a customer that was lied for 1 week hoping to have his phone number back. I just needed to tell customer the truth, we cannot issue the phone number back.
Now look at this one: a very polite customer asked me “how’s the weather in Colombia?” I got petrified!!! Who the hell told customer that was located in Colombia? Whoever was, needed to be a big stupid, well, I don’t even care, but I think that will be so stupid say that for security reasons we cannot tell you where we are located, stupid policies.
Going back to stupid people. BLZ, they have the 2nd place in stupid people after ROS (who are the 1st place at all, don’t doubt it). BLZ opens a port in case every time that the customer wants to perform an upgrade. Is it so dificult to go to nap verify and check zip codes and techologies in that area? If a GSM phone is the new one, is it so dificult to go to nap verify and check if the sim card is not a SIM5 to be activated with TMobile carrier? And here comes the worst, I heard from Miami that they will open a new call center in BLZ, OH HELL NO!!!!
Next place coming, BOL with the 3rd one. Almost 2 or 3 times a week, I get calls from mad customers asking for supervisor Matthew or supervisor Nicholas. If those guys are supervisors, WHAT A STUPID PERSONS!!! Those two, always screw up things that a new agent knows how to resolve them. Last time, I spend 3 hours dealing with a customer trying to get his port in case resolved because Nicholas told customer to wait 3 hours to get the number ported into his new tracfone and guess what, the port in case was opened 5 days before I got the call & those were the times that we needed to wait up to 30 days for the case to be closed, we had to wait 25 days more for this case have a solution.
Well any way, too many complaits for today. Today is my day off and don’t wanna keep on mind TracFone customers, or TracFone idiot agents. 6 days are enough, the 7th is to keep your mind busy with most important things.
SO LONG STUPID “ARGENTINOS”, BLZ, BOL, COL & GEO. I hope the new Phillipinas guys will help us to keep a good customer service, even with AR, BLZ, BOL, COL & GEO call centers, those are our worst nightmare. SO LONG STUPID AGENTS.

A cell phone is not a replacement for you regular landline phone. Why someone would want to use a cell phone as their regular landline, I personally have no idea. A cell phone is for the convenience of travel, in places where there are rarely any landline pay phones, or in cases of emergenices. Prepaid plans are what they are. Also cell phone plans and regular landline phone plans are totally different. It may be free to call a 800 number from a landline but is is not necessarily free for using a cell phone. I checked the Tracfone website on regarding their terms and conditions. There is no mention of calling a 800 number and not being charged airtime units. I have a net10 phone and also checked their website regarding this matter and it is the same. There is no mention of not being charged air time units for calling a 800 number. Lastly, sometimes Tracfone makes mistakes but it is not always their fault but our fault as well. When i decided to go with a prepaid plan instead of a regular plan, I knew the risks involved. I knew that there might be a problem with the headset, changes in terms and conditions without notice, the use of the service itself, problems with the topoff cards, and etc., but you have to accept your decisions.

I also wanted to add that the only calls that Tracfone/Net10 doen’t charge for airtime is for 911 calls. All other calls will be deducted aitime including 411, 611, and all other calls which is stated in their terms & conditions.

Yes, we appricate the work that does companys bring here or there. I totaly get your point about the calling Costuemr Service but bill as you might know since you own one of this prepaid service phones most of the work that is done on them is on the handset so yes the land line is a MUST when the service has a problem or you need to add airtime but let me tell you that This company TF is improving on this matter because in some areas an over the air redeptiom feature is available and activation also. But al Tech problems had to be work on the headset.

Its true because of the conditions some of the CSR are on some call centers, if you call happens to land on one of those you might get what your looking for. But not on my location like i told on a previous post a costumer who is in title to be compasated we will do it because as you said it about keeping the costumers happy and on the company but not a bunch o lying cheap Mofo’s who claim to be on a fix income or on social and they what a service that they needs to be pay. THANKS TO ALL NET10/TRACFONE CSRS
I recently had a problem topping off my net10 phone but it was resolved quickly. I recently purchased a 1500 minute card with a full year of active service. I added the minutes by going online to the website. at first it detected a problem and told me enter an additional code which i did. I then recevied my minutes but I was shorted 600 minutes. So i got only 900 minutes instead of the 1500 minutes. what i did was call custiomer service. I had my serial number and the pin# on the card ready. once i was able to get a csr, she was real nice and helped me out. I gave her the information that i had ready and she gave me a few codes that i had to enter on my phone. We both did this very carefully and slowly to make sure there were no mistakes. it took two tries but everything worked out fine. I receieved my full 1500 minutes and had no other problems. I THANKED HER TREMENDOUSLY FOR RESOLVING MY PROBLEM. the whole problem was resolved within 10 minutes tops. this goes to show you that all you need is to be able to have patience and a nice attitude and the csr will indeed try everything to help you resolve any problems you might have. I have been using net10 for about 8 months now but will continue to be long time customer in the future. THANKS.

Criticas a todo el mundo como si fueras el mejor agente de todos, me vas a decir que nunca le mandaste alguna gilada a algun cliente para sacartelo de encima. Te digo que en tu call hay algunos pelotudos bastantes te diria, tanto que decis los de Toss de tu call le ponen 20 minutos para transferir una due date porque preguntan todas boludeces que ni siquiera necesitan y tienen que preguntarle todo al supervisor, en cambio alguien de Arg le pone nada mas que 3min o 4 como maximo, o de donde te pensas que es Silvina. Sabes todas las blind transfer que nos comemos de tu call porque son unos estupidos que no saben hacer nada, incluso cuando atendemos al cliente que te transfieren el cliente mismo te dice que el que lo estaba atendiendo antes no tenia idea, y bueno a veces son tan idiotas que dejan interactions antes de hacer una blind transfer. Por cierto vos que sabes tanto y criticas a todos en que departamento estas????? No me digas que sos fucking universal, aguantandote a tooooooooooooodos los customers, ja,ja,ja me parece que si. Bueno igual ahora nos divertimos un poco con Filipinas, no se puede creer que sean tan tontos, bueno me da lastima no se me imagino quien puede estar de sup alla si nadie tiene idea, yo estoy en CRT y todos los que me tocaron de Filipinas llaman sin el caso bueno eso lo hacen todos pero entre que se ponen a buscar el caso pierden tiempo y te piden updetear al cust y todos los que atendi volvieron y me dijeron ohh madam I released the call by mistake, no tienen idea de nada, no entienden ingles. Customers, TracFone & cell phones are a big pain on my ass, even people like you. I don’t even care if I hang up a call when an unrespectful customer is talkin’ to me. Believe me, I have disconnected calls more than my own age. I got paid for a good job, not to listen an insult or F words as you said. I have reported IT agents, I have reported CRT agents, I have reported tech agents… I don’t care! If I do that to TracFone agents that I know, why I cannot hang up a call of a stupid unrespectful customer? Remember, our names or nicknames are totally useless for them, even if we provide them w/our employee ID number. Believe me, I have a Sony Ericsson palm unblocked, so I can use it w/whatever carrier I want & I’ve never had problems w/my service. The USA cell phone service providers are the worst thing I’ve ever know. Why you don’t get Vodafone? Believe me, it’s much better. And about releasing calls, we do have the right to release ‘em! I guess you didn’t check the stupid AGENT SUPPORT made by Steffanie at Miami. I don’t spect nothing from a customer, they are nothing else than idiots! They cannot turn a cell on, they cannot redeem airtime (instead of choosing add airtime on the automated system when they already have an airtime card they choose buy airtime), then complaint because the phone doesn’t make/receive calls & the phone is being deactivated for over a year, & because of that they will contact the FCC & the Better Business Bureau because they say that we are a fraudulent company! Come on, they don’t even read tracfone terms & conditions of service before they start using the service. I’m mean, is patetic! And just remember another thing, I am not getting paid to put a smile on my voice, I’m getting paid just to fix problems. I don’t live angry every day! What a stupid idea, being empatheric every single day. “I apologize for the inconvenience…” that is just a stupid script! I don’t feel bad when a customer has a problem w/the cell phone, I just feel another pain on my ass. Believe me, I used Sprint service when I was at the states & I’ve never heard something so stupid as TracFone apologies or stupid scripts. They fix your issue so quick without calling X department or Y department, they have all the tools to do it. And yes, I used Sprint when they had prepaid service. So, I don’t even care about customers, I don’t even care who you are or where you are from, I do care about myself & my pay check, that’s all. If a customer is sick, why he/she doesn’t go to the hospital or, if the his/her dog died because was old, ma’am/sir, open your eyes, your dog was breathing extra air & needed to go, that animal is not eternal, won’t live for ever. Another thing! You don’t even know what “MA’AM” means! We are just insulting the customer & they don’t even know! If you really don’t know what “MA’AM” means, take it as a homework, but customers love when we call ‘em “MA’AM”.

Well, today’s diary… Can’t believe how [[”"IDIOT”"]] could be a UNITED STATES CITIZEN!!!!! Crap!! Do you belive me!? I spent almost 45 minutes w/a stupid guy trying to get the IMEI from the cell phone, & as you know about new stupid QA questions, we “cannot” be rude w/that kind of idiots! Come on, I don’t give a fuck for them! Damn! I cannot believe that shit… I cannot understand WHY a customer gets double charged on CCs? Is that so complicated? I don’t understand either why they claim compensation units or why they try to treack us saying a lot of lies. “My units disappeared after I turned my phone back on this morning” BULLSHIT… The units disappeared that morning & they call us in the evening, yeah sure. Or even worst, kids trying to transfer thousand of units from one phone into another one [little thiefs] & the incredible thing, they have added just 60 units in the whole phone’s lifetime & BLZ agents do wonders by transfering those thousands of units! I really don’t know what to do, I’ll get crazy if I keep working 7 hrs every day waiting for some inteligent customer. Now, we will talk about the famous blind transfers! I guess BLZ guys are the top guys… MAKING BLIND TRANSFERS or warm transfers. As we HAVE to offer assistance, those guys transfer every call just because they want w/no reason, & now it is worst at all because we all are authorized to blind transfer a customer to a Team Lead guy… Poor guys! Who’s idea was the blind transfer to Team Lead? No SHIT! RR or the new CRT management? Team Lead was the good shit before w/good auto-in now I can see those guys hoping not to keep working in that dept. This is the bad new now, APP agents (Credit Card) will have multi skill… Shit, that is exploitation! Credit Card, Refer a Friend & Autopay, damn! Those guys will be totally killed & we all still getting the same pay & no rise!!!!! Well, there’s a lot to complaint about but who cares? Customers will be stupids all the time & could get worst! TracFone won’t be best company ever. Our pay won’t be rised. QA won’t be better than today. BLZ agents won’t change, they’ll remaing stupid. Bill_B seem like he won’t grow up [retarded]. World won’t change for good… Customers, try to understand… CSR are not gods to solve issues, believe, we all do our best to solve your issue. If we cannot solve it, is because TracFone doesn’t provide w/tools to fix the problem. Why they have to turn it so complicated? That is the United States system, complicated. They have to do a lot of shits just to say we cannot do it. That is why I still love latin system, we take it easy & think on a better way to keep going up. We couldn’t be the Number 1 Nation but without us they’re nothing. Customer, inform yourself, read TF terms & conditions & stop bothering us, believe me, we have enough! Well, who cares? I got a good pay check. The only one day that I love TracFone is for Thanksgiving day, we work just 3 hrs. Then, when I was on vacations, I just forgot about TF to enjoy them! Hey Guys what do you think about the new data phones, I think this is going to be a headache, customers calling because they used the browser and the phone deducted units(even if they use the service they will ask us to give those units back compensation), they will say : “Nobody told me that if I use the browser units will be deducted” and more likely we will have customers asking “How many units will my tracfone deduct if I take a picture”(hahahaha) or maybe they will call saying “every time that I try to take I picture all I get is A big Finger”….well only time will tell us what kind of problems we are going to have with the new phones…this goes to Bill_B: FUCK YOU STUPID RACIST!!!!!!
