AIM (.Mac, actually), AIM, ICQ (before I realised they were all essentially the same thing; MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger (or whatever it's called), and Jabber (Gmail). Luckily, there are clients that allow us to use all of them at the same time - otherwise I wouldn't bother. I suspect there are lots of people out there who have one or two accounts with services, and use the vanilla clients that come with them. Ugh!
